The first instance will be a mosh and mix-up of music, and the next article will be set to a theme. And so on. So, this article will just me hitting random on my MP3 Player, and citing what is important. Not too much of note, but possibly just a little background on the artist or song. Let's get started...

Most Precious Blood - Your Picture Hung Itself - Back in 2005, I was introduced to this new brand of metal/hardcore/whatever. At first I was pretty sceptical, and as the fad fizzled out so did the majority of bands. MPB is still around however, lying extremely low. One of the bands with a self-loathe for the HC scene's momentary hipness, they decided to take a slight break from the scene and are currently working on a fourth (?) album. They're signed to Trustkill.

Gym Class Heroes - 7 Weeks - A friend of mine dates the bass player, which is kind of crazy. In any case, these guys successfully mix alt and hip hop genres to get you intrigued enough to listen and are catchy enough to keep you listening. They just finished up Warped Tour 08 and are coming out with a new album called The Quilt which is rumored to feature Busta Rhymes and Hall & Oates. I'm not kidding.

The Beach Boys - Be True to Your School - Ah, the Beach Boys always get me thinking about the summertime. Unfortunately, the summer's almost over and most of the kiddies will be heading back to class. So I guess this is appropriate. Enjoy the last few weeks of beautiful weather while you can!

Buckcherry - Slit My Wrists - Probably my favorite song on Buckcherry's sophomore effort, Time Bomb. This album was somewhat controversial to the band, seeing as they didn't release anything for almost 4 years after this. The current incarnation of Buckcherry is currently on tour with Motley Crue and are planning to release a new album, Too Drunk..., later next month.

PM Dawn - Faith In You - This rap duo did a really bad-ass cover of "You Got Me Floatin" for a Jimi Hendrix tribute album I have somewhere. But this song is pretty nice. I recall hearing it a long time ago, and one day a few years ago it was on an episode of Cold Case that I saw as I was channel surfing. I have no idea what they're doing now.

Dave Barnes - Until You - Kind of poppy, and somewhat reminiscent of John Mayer-ish quality, Barnes is more well known for his songwriting. He's written songs for a multitude of artists, including super funky Marc Broussard. nice jam.

Inside - Jill Came Tumbling After - I'm pretty sure this band no longer exists, but they were introduced to me through a friend from West Babylon. Original Long Island alt, they consider themselves emo. I'm pretty sure that this band has split into more successful bands, but Inside's music is definitely worth trying to track down some material.

Metallica - Loverman - An offering from Garage Inc. Disc I, Metallica does a few covers pretty spot on. This one is a little different. Originally done by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, I'd definitely recommend some of their stuff if you dig this track. I'm pretty sure they just released a new album this year. And of course, Metallica's Death Magnetic will be out soon enough, hopefully not underwhelming expectations.

Death By Stereo - Little Fighter - Punk goes metal? I guess, this whiny track originally performed by White Lion is about a Greenpeace boat that got bombed by French terrorists. Mike Tramp's voice is kind of a killer, but at least this version is a little heavier. I'd also recommend Death By Stereo's stuff.

The B-52's - Rock Lobster - Nuff said.

That's enough for today, but the feature tomorrow will more than likely be IRISH MUSIC. Get your drinking mugs ready and we''ll see you then.

New Blog-tastic Stuff

I decided upon further review of most blogs on the internet that blogs suck. At least a whopping 10,000% are. Most of them are just people bitching about how their lives suck or deal with the minutia of everyday life. Well, I can't really relate to most of that because I have no idea what the heck normal everyday life is. Life is a challenge, and not that mine is superior to others, but I enjoy myself - and the stuff that goes on isn't really ordinary.

So instead of crying about reality, I'll promise to keep this shiznit for purely entertainment purposes. I saw a few music blogs where they just focus on posting new music, reviews, and whatever else they really feel like. However, I find that a lot of these blogs in particular feature music of the same genre and rarely if ever delve much further past that one genre. So, being that my life completely revolves around music and my job requires me to know a lot about different types of music production, I feel like I can show a wider variance of music and still keep it kind of interesting. Maybe I give people too much credit for being open minded, but maybe I'm just not trying hard enough. So, that's pretty much it..

Of course, there's a chance that a lot of my personal favorites will get some facetime, but I definitely don't want to pigeon-hole it into one particular type of music blogggg. So, if I get out of line, let me know. But I am going to make a conscious effort to try to cover all types of music, even stuff I might not be particularly into (which isn't much). I will be posting new music probably tonight. Stay tuned.
